Congratulations Caroline and Morgan!
I’m going to start by saying that you absolutely can’t go wrong by having a Union Station Hotel wedding in Nashville! It embodies the rich history of the luxurious southern train station, and has every amenity you’d expect from an elegant downtown hotel. Have you seen this place!? Walk inside to the breathtaking 65-foot, barrel-vaulted lobby ceiling, featuring gold-leaf medallions and 100-year-old, original Luminous Prism stained glass. Dance on the marble floors like royalty. You’ll also find oak-accented doors and walls, and three limestone fireplaces as you explore the room. Wedding guests will never forget celebrating in this grand, one-of-a kind National Historic Landmark.
Caroline and Morgan are college sweethearts from Auburn University. In June 2015, after they both graduated and got accepted into Mississippi State University for graduate school, Morgan planned a two week road trip as a celebration. They started out in his hometown in Boulder, CO. On the road from Boulder to Glenwood Springs, Morgan decided to take a mountain bypass detour up the Loveland Pass which is the highest mountain pass in the world (12,000 ft). Cue Caroline’s lightheadedness. She was feeling faint and even asked Morgan if they could turn around. Morgan promised her that it would be worth it after they made it to the top, and she of course trusted him.
Here’s Caroline’s account of what happened once they reached the top: “He told me that immediately after we had met, he knew I was something special and something about me blew him away. Every Sunday while at Auburn, we would go to brunch at The Hound. Before he proposed, he told me that although we won’t get brunch at The Hound every Sunday anymore, he wants to continue to get Sunday brunch with me for the rest of our lives (cue the tears). After a few minutes of him talking and me listening, Morgan got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. My altitude sickness immediately diminished. :)”
I’m so glad we were able to capture their wedding day for them and be a part of this incredible day!
