Franklin, Tennessee Wedding Photographer – Melanie Grady Photography
The most amazing rainbow ever seen at a wedding!
Congratulations, Kim and Craig!!
As a Franklin, Tennessee wedding photographer, I could only dream of being in the midst of a light misty afternoon rain shower on a warm summer day – photographing a beautiful wedding (at a rockstar location), and all of a sudden being witness to the brightest and most vivid rainbow I have ever seen – directly above the historic wedding venue. This rainbow appeared about 5 minutes prior to Kim and Craig’s ceremony start time at The Red House in Franklin, TN. My reaction was literally yelling at my husband, Josh, to go and bring Kim and Craig outside for 2 minutes to see this and for me to be able to create a magical and unforgettable photograph for them. I told him he couldn’t take no for an answer, and they HAD to come outside (luckily they had already seen each other for a first look). There was a side door where they could exit the house and see the rainbow without their guests seeing them. All of the guests had a partial view of the rainbow while patiently waiting for the ceremony to begin, but they had no view of Kim, Craig, and I while I photographed them. I could hear people whispering, ‘did the photographer see this rainbow?’ – hahaha – I was ON IT.
Here’s the wedding info in short, so we can get to the photos!!
Kim and Craig – obviously madly in love! They met at work at Verizon Wireless and started dating (and fell in love in no time!). Craig proposed at Arrington Vinyards, which was beautiful and definitely fun (despite the fact that Kim ruined his original proposal plan). Kim wanted the wedding to be pretty and FUN. Their relationship is unique because they really truly are best friends. Kim says, “I would rather hang out with him than anyone else, even if we don’t do anything more than sit by the fire pit with some wine, or play video games or go to the brewery. I just like spending time and having fun with him.”
The Red House – 140-year-old Franklin landmark treasure – the massive interior walls are adorned with authentic rock and roll memorabilia. The Red House has hosted celebrities such as John Mayer and Keith Urban, as well as numerous brides, songwriters, graduates and special birthday guests. Ed Hill (owner) frequently has songwriting sessions at The Red House, and he has even penned a Grammy nominated song while on the front porch of the house.
Nashville Sweets created the beautiful cake and cake pop arrangement.
Ribbons of Chocolate amazed everyone with delicious southern dinner.
Rebecca’s Flowers artistically designed the beautiful cascading bridal bouquet.
I hope y’all enjoy!!
