Downtown Nashville Wedding on Printer’s Alley
Portraits outside of the Ryman Auditorium and golden hour on the rooftop of former wedding venue, Events on Third.

Like the bold (and totally beautiful) reds and navys of their wedding decor, Jill and Dawson are a lesson in contrasts. The music-loving pair had both their first date AND their proposal at big concerts (Paul McCartney (all you need is love <3), and Kasey Musgraves), and their romantic, intimate wedding ceremony with family only at Dawson’s old wedding venue on Nashville’s famous Printer’s Alley. Friends joined them after for the party at the TN Brew Works, and now they’re Mr. & Mrs., completely complementary and bringing out the best in each other forever after.
Amazing wedding vendors include:
Reception Venue: Tennessee Brew Works
Bridal Gown: Posh Bridal Couture
Stationary: Nesting Project
Floral Designs: SOULflowers
Hair and Makeup: The Blowout Company
Here’s the back story! —
Dawson ran a wedding venue, Events on Third, on Printer’s Alley for 5 years! Over the course of those 5 years, he hosted anywhere from 100-130 events per year. Can you imagine the crazy number of people he would meet on a daily basis? Jill came along one evening as a guest at a wedding (THANKS Lauren and Will!), and the two met for the first time. Dawson couldn’t stop thinking about Jill the next day.
Here’s what Dawson told me… (I LOVE this!!)
“The Titans were playing the Colts and were well on their way to another great 2-14 season. Given that the Titans lost that game 41-17, I obviously had had a few drinks that afternoon (I believe that specific Titans team made everyone want to have a drink) and apparently had worked up a little bit of courage later in the day to send a message via Facebook (which I’ve rarely ever done but I didn’t have her number) asking her if she wanted to go out sometime. I never really even expected to get a response, but I figured it was worth a shot: the Titans had just gotten decimated by our biggest rivals, so it couldn’t possibly get any worse from there, right? Long story short, she did respond, we started hanging out from there, and the rest has been a great 2 years ever since then. We’ve been through a lot together, but we also have had more great times together than either of us could count, and continue to add to those experiences and memories daily. Since I’ve known Jill, I feel like I’ve grown a lot as a person and matured a lot as a man, and she’s largely to thank for that. Jill is one of the most hard-working, humble and caring people that I’ve ever met and I consider myself lucky to live the rest of this life with her. With all of that being said, cheers to Titans losses, random Facebook messages, and most of all, cheers to the soon-to-be Mrs. Higgs!”
I know I might be biased, but I’m totally obsessed with all of their images. Your jaw will drop when you see them on the rooftop at sunset. Jill and Dawson are incredible people, and definitely one of my favorite couples that I’ve ever worked with! I’m so happy I was able to meet them and now I’m glad I can call them my friends. ENJOY the highlights from their wedding day! 🙂

The Ryman Auditorium, where Dawson proposed!
Such a special place to both of them, I’m so glad we got to take some of their wedding day portraits there. I know these will be cherished.
Jill and Dawson go to Bridgestone Arena all the time for Predator’s games and concerts… we felt like a good idea to get a nice photo in front of it.
Up the elevator to the rooftop! I was like a kid on Christmas morning. Jill and Dawson used to hang out up there a lot (they even had an herb garden up there) – so, yes, another incredibly meaningful place for them.
Like they own this town!!
Rooftop portraits are so much better than ground level portraits. period.
Jill, you were shining so brightly – nothing but beauty, class, and elegance.
Dawson, you were handsome and striking – with confidence like you owned the place. LOL
Just a few of the concerts they’ve been to together. . .
