Congratulations Christine and Rich!
This week, I’m going to take you to a luxurious Marathon Music Works Wedding in Nashville, TN. The day started at the Embassy Suites by Hilton near Vanderbilt, and the marriage ceremony (and beautiful portrait session) took place at the Second Presbyterian Church on Belmont Blvd. This was hands down one of the most amazing Nashville weddings that I’ve ever been a part of. I can’t wait to show you!
I think I can speak for everyone who knows Christine & Rich when I say that they are an incredible couple. As individuals, they are both beautiful, fun, smart, down to earth, gracious, and loving. When two people with all of those same qualities come together, it’s such a wonderful thing. The world needs more people like Christine and Rich, so I hope they raise lots of beautiful babies! Witnessing their love for one another started for me at their engagement session. They arrived a little shy and apprehensive about being in front of the camera, but literally about 5 minutes into the shoot, they were squeezing each other, laughing, and kissing like no one was around. (You have to check out the link to their engagement session if you haven’t seen it already – cotton fields of love!!) Fast forward to the wedding day, and taking their portraits as a newly married couple was a beautiful experience.
Their families – wow – these families are so full of love and laughter, it was so amazing to witness their pure JOY for Christine and Rich. I’m a sucker for parent dances at the reception, and both the ‘father/daughter’ and ‘mother/son’ had me misty eyed behind my lens. The images are so timeless and precious, I seriously want to cry just thinking about them… I can only pray that one day we have moments and photos like these of our kids at their weddings.
When I asked Christine about how they met and how he proposed, she said….
“Rich and I went to high school together but only talked once while donating blood in our high school gym, where he made fun of me. We had mutual friends, one who gave Rich my number. We texted throughout the first two years of when I was in college, and I invited him to my sorority formal as my date. We went on many more dates throughout the years but never officially dated. Rich then went into the Marines where he was stationed in Hawaii, I graduated from Syracuse and started teaching in Nashville. We kept in contact over the years he was stationed, and planned for him to come visit once he was released from the marines. We started dating after his second visit to Nashville.
Rich proposed to me in our townhouse. He offered to go get me starbucks and came back with my coffee. He stood there and told me he had something for me (which I could see a rose sticking out from behind his back) and then he gave me the flowers. I went to put them on the table and looked back to him and he was down on one knee.”
And when asked about the inspiration and style behind the wedding planning…
“We wanted to keep our wedding as classic and romantic as possible, we wanted timeless colors and textures with an eclectic feel.”
