The most picturesque and luxurious Nashville wedding venue on Old Hickory Lake is The Estate at Cherokee Dock. The former estate of Reba McIntire, this stunning mansion on the lake boasts the most beautiful tree lined (and very long) driveway, meticulously maintained gardens, luxury stable, guest house, guitar shaped pool, pool house, eight-car garage, and more. The 13,000 sq. ft estate home is a dream to step foot in. Natural light spills in from every direction, the woodwork and architecture are as grand as you would expect, and the spectacular views of the lake are everywhere you turn. Secluded on 13 acres of private property, the estate is the perfect wedding venue for the couple that wants true luxury with peaceful seclusion. Megan and Jackson were married on the glimmering lakeside lawn with stunning lake views for all to see.
“I have been wanting you since their wedding day. You brought such a positive energy that day and your work is amazing!!!”
I photographed Meg’s brother’s wedding 3 years ago – shout out to Alex & Rachel and their new baby boy! Love y’all. Meg was a bridesmaid at Alex and Rachel’s wedding and she. was. stunning. Here’s a link to Alex and Rachel’s wedding! I remember the moment when I saw on instagram that Meg was engaged. I wanted to jump out of my chair with excitement, but also needed to just calm down and realize that she had her pick of any photographer in the world for her wedding.
To say that I was excited when I received her e-mail asking about my availability for her wedding at The Estate at Cherokee Dock is an understatement!! It was an immediate YES in my mind before I even checked her date on my calendar. Luckily, I was open on her original date of May 30th and I responded enthusiastically with a yes, while trying to remain cool. Her response was “I have been wanting you since their wedding day. You brought such a positive energy that day and your work is amazing!!!”. She had my heart.

Fast forward to the unpredictable and unprecedented year of 2020. When Meg reached out to reschedule her wedding, she was so kind and unnecessarily apologetic. We rescheduled the wedding for mid-July and kept our heads up.
Meg called me with a raspy voice and a heavy heart. Her and Jackson – both diagnosed with Covid-19 about a week before the wedding. Her spirit was high despite this devastating turn of events. The wedding would be postponed again. She was so kind. I understood that this must have been earth crushing news for her and her family. Thank God, they both recovered and were more determined than ever to make this wedding happen!!
The marriage of Megan Hutto and Jackson Barnes after two COVID-19 postponements left them eager to say ‘I do’.
Just 5 short weeks after they were sick (I’m sure it felt like an eternity), everyone was 100% healthy and ready for this wedding! August 11, 2020. So much to be thankful for. First and foremost, a healthy and happy couple! Blessed with beautiful August weather with sunshine and blue skies, a gracious group of family and friends, and The Estate at Cherokee Dock for being open and such amazing hosts!
Meg and Jackson’s love radiated all day and the most heartfelt and tender memories were made. Take a look below for a sprinkle of images that tells the story of their wedding day. They will have a lot more where these came from and I’m so glad to have been able to create such meaningful images for them to cherish forever. This will be a very special day in the history of this family, so I hope I did it justice. Enjoy re-living the highlights of the day! I know I’ll never forget it.
