Are you ready for the most beautiful, elegant, classic, and timeless Nashville wedding ever? Shannon and David’s marriage at The Cathedral of the Incarnation in downtown Nashville and their reception at The Hermitage Hotel will give you goosies, I promise.
Their story: You find who you are supposed to find. David and Shannon did just that, despite being an unlikely match. They both stuck out like sore thumbs in Boston-David being from Houston, TX, and Shannon from east Tennessee. They met in a sports bar the first weekend Shannon was in Boston, and he took her out for dinner on her 23rd birthday 2 days later. They have been together ever since. Although their plans for the future were very different – Shannon was going to stay in Boston to become a public health professional, and David was itching to get back to the South. Neither of those things happened when work took David to Denver. They persevered through a tough semester apart, and one year later, they were engaged in Vail, Colorado during the beautiful month of October when all of the Aspens were changing from dark greens to riotous oranges, reds, and yellows. A few months later, they made the decision to move to Austin, Texas, in order for Shannon to pursue a doctoral program. This meant a move, a new job for both of them, back to school for Shannon, a wedding, a honeymoon, and a number of other adjustments in just a few short weeks. Shannon says, “This was truly a test, but I never felt more sure of the man I would marry than in these difficult weeks. I guess David felt the same way because on August 15, 2015 we promised forever. We kept our wedding relaxed: a reflection of the people we were both brought up to be. We were honored to be surrounded by the people we love most in the world in Nashville, TN, on the August 14-16 weekend.”

Also want to thank custom alterations at Donna Beth Creations (www.donnabethcreations.com) in Denver who custom-made the bride´s jacket worn in the Nashville Cathedral of the Incarnation and custom-made the bride´s veil with fabric the bride discovered and purchased from Allyn´s Bridal (www.allyns.com). Bride´s shoes were blue suede Prada from www.NiemanMarcus.com. Bride and groom had their rings custom-made by family friends in Louisiana.
Shannon is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful brides I’ve ever seen… you’ll see… They are both so wonderful for one another and compliment each other perfectly. You might notice that there are more photos of Shannon and her bridesmaids than usual. Believe me, it’s a very good thing! I could photograph these girls all day! Their ceremony was at 7:00pm. By the time the ceremony was over, it was dark out. Shannon and David knew that sticking to tradition and seeing each other for the first time walking down the aisle would mean that they would not be able to have any daylight portraits. They were fine with having a few portraits together in the church and then going straight to the reception to gather and celebrate with their family and friends! I love how they put their tradition and beliefs ahead of the luxury of having daylight portraits. It speaks volumes about who they are. And the church portraits are AMAZING. Absolute perfection.

The Hermitage had everything set up before we left for the church, so we couldn’t resist getting some bright and beautiful photos of the room in the daylight. How amazing does everything look (thanks to the Hermitage and Lauren Atkinson’s florals)!! I really love the simplistic beauty of the small jars and the rosemary.
She has a Grace Kelly beauty about her. And her hair and makeup were flawless.

As we were waiting for our limo – I thought the sidewalk right in front of the Hermitage Hotel was perfect for some portraits. Gaaaaah! She is so gorgeous.
We drove a few blocks over to Printer’s Alley for some fun and memorable portraits of the girls.
