I never really thought about working on holidays when becoming a wedding photographer… but when a Saturday in July falls on the 4th, a LOT of people think about having their wedding on our Independence Day. What an awesome way to get together with friends and family on such a great summer holiday! Everyone loves the 4th of July, and everyone loves weddings, so why not combine the two? Patriotic couples embrace the red, white, and blue decor, attire, cake, and every detail in between. Diana and Luke did just that and also chose one of the best Western Pennsylvania wedding venues. Seven Springs Ski Resort is located in the Laurel Mountains and is such a great wedding venue. The views are spectacular and the amenities are fabulous for you and all of your guests. On Friday night, when Josh and I arrived, we were able to watch a fireworks display from the balcony in our room. The resort was buzzing with excitement for the holiday and ready to party!
Diana and Luke are such a fun & beautiful couple, and I was so lucky to get to spend the holiday with them capturing every moment of their wedding day. Their wedding ceremony was at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Somerset, PA, just a few miles from the resort. I started photographing the ladies at one of the resort’s chalets, which had the perfect amount of natural light and space for me to shoot Diana getting ready. She is an absolute beauty! I am so lucky, it seems I am always given the opportunity to photograph the classiest and prettiest brides! Her gown is David Tutera (purchased at Global Bridal Gallery, Alexandria, VA). It is AMAZING. The scalloped lace sweetheart neckline is absolutely gorgeous! She wore a pair of royal blue Badgley Mischka pumps with crystals over the peep toe. Her red rose bouquet, diamond jewelry, and cathedral veil completed her breathtaking look. I’m not sure of the designer of her bridesmaids dresses, but they were so sophisticated and glamorous – navy blue and sequins. When they held their red rose bouquets against that blue, the contrast was perfect. Luke and his groomsmen wore Izod jackets (with burgundy lining), along with red, white, and blue suspenders, and black ties. They were ridiculously handsome. Seriously, you’ll see how handsome. 🙂
I thoroughly enjoyed spending my holiday with this amazing couple and their family and friends. It was a perfect day, that will not be forgotten.
